Aamir says I don’t fit into a mother’s role: Mallika

Actress Mallika Sherawat says she had auditioned for Aamir Khan starrer “Dangal’ but did not get the role as he did not think the Haryanvi diva looked old enough to play mother of four teenaged girls.

“I had auditioned for the role of Aamir’s wife in ‘Dangal’. Aamir Khan and the film unit loved my auditions. But as my role would be a mother of 4 grown up girls, Aamir felt that regardless of whatever could be done; I might not look old enough to play a mother to four teenage daughters. That is the only reason why I did not get cast in the film,” said Mallika, who was spotted performing Ganesh aarti at Ranjit studios here.

The role later went to Sakshi Tanwar, who shot to fame with Balaji soap “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki”.

Is Aamir Khan risking his life for Dangal?

There is some alarming news of Aamir Khan developing respiratory problems coming in from Ludhiana where Aamir Khan has begun shooting for Nitesh Tiwari’s film Dangal.

The biopic on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat required Aamir to put on 35 kilos. This, Aamir, gladly did. After all, this method actor has always gone out of his way to lend credence to his character.

However, such a drastic weight enhancement has caused unforeseen side effects. According to sources close to the film, Aamir Khan has developed respiratory problems.

Says a source, “Because of all the excessive weight Aamir has developed respiratory problem. He finds it hard to breathe properly. His muscle movements have also slowed down considerably. He finds it hard to bend or even get up from a seated posture.”

Apparently, doctors have advised Aamir to get rid of his avoirdupois fast before more damage is done to his health.

“However, he has to maintain his current weight, 95 kilos, to play the wrestler between the age of 45 and 55. Then after shooting for a month, he will get 3 months to lose all the weight to play the character at age 25-27. Such drastic enhancement and reduction of weight is not medically advisable. It plays havoc with the metabolism. However, Aamir has little choice in the matter, as he has to keep in character at any cost,” says a source close to the project.

Akshay Kumar gets a double homage in the new Hera Pheri movie

Sadly, Akshay Kumar who is in many ways the mainstay of the Hera Pheri franchise is no longer part of it. The core cast for the new Hera Pheri film encores Paresh Rawal and Suniel Shetty. But instead of Akshay, the film features John Abraham.

For those who may miss Akshay in this installment of Hera Pheri here is a good news. Two characters have been incorporated as homage to Akshay’s character.

Says producer Firoz Nadiadwala, “Akshay played the roguish and very popular character Raju in Hera Pheri. We have incorporated references in the dialogue to his character as gone missing. Writer-director Neeraj Vora has incorporated two characters named Raju who could have been played by Akshay. One is a character called Raju Khabri, a roguish police informer played by Abhishek Bachchan, and the other is Raju Duplicate played by John Abraham who makes a living by selling pirated copies of Bhojpuri films.”

Apparently both the characters were written with Akshay Kumar in mind. And never mind if Akshay is no more a part of the franchise.
